I’ve been a fan of Matthew and Gunnar Nelson since I was a teenager growing up in Brazil, so I was really excited to finally read their autobiography, especially because I received a signed copy.

What I enjoyed most about the book was the chance to learn more about them beyond what we’ve seen publicly over the years. As a longtime fan, I thought I knew a lot about their careers and their history, but there were plenty of stories and details that were new to me. The book gives you a better understanding of their lives, their family, their experiences, and the journey that brought them to where they are today.

Of course, reading it also brought back a lot of memories. When you’ve followed someone since your teenage years, their music and career naturally become connected to different periods of your own life. It was fun to revisit some of those moments while reading about everything from their perspective.

I also appreciated that the book gave me information I probably never would have known otherwise. As fans, we usually only get pieces of the story through interviews, articles, music, and social media. An autobiography gives you the opportunity to hear things directly from the people who actually lived them, and that was one of the most interesting parts of the book for me.

You don’t have to be a fan from the beginning to enjoy learning about their story, but I think longtime fans will especially appreciate the memories and behind-the-scenes details. For me, someone who has been following them since my teenage years in Brazil, it was a great mix of nostalgia and new information.

And receiving a signed copy definitely made the experience even better.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It was interesting, nostalgic, and gave me a chance to learn more about Matthew and Gunnar beyond the version of them I’ve known as a fan for so many years. If you’ve followed their journey, it’s definitely worth reading.
